The Joyce-Loebl Heritage
In 1977 Joyce-Loebl was acquired by and became part of the Vickers group of companies. During the mid-1990's, following the end of the 'Cold War' there was a reduction in some areas of Defence spending and changes to their procurement strategy. The company not only recognised this and the need to specialise in some niche areas; but were very successful in doing so and, to this day, the company still excels in:

Communications and Information Systems - specialists in the supply of IT based ruggedised solutions for Airborne, Ship-borne and Vehicle applications. We are also suppliers to the MOD and NATO catalogue for radio equipment.

Electronic Countermeasures - specialists in Countermeasures Dispensing Systems, the physical means by which an aircraft launches either chaff to defeat radar guided missiles, or flares to defeat infra-red guided missiles.
In 2001 Petards acquired Joyce-Loebl and has continued to grow the defence related projects and maintain the high level of services to this important sector.
